Our story

Tobacco was the cash crop in the low country when we were growing up in the late seventies and early eighties. My wife’s father owned a tobacco farm, and I worked a few miles down the road on an adjacent farm during the summers. Before mechanized harvesting, tobacco was cropped and strung on sticks. These sticks were typically made of pine, occasionally oak, and were used to hang the tobacco leaf in oil-fired barns to cure. The sticks were heated over many cycles, hardened, and uniquely colored. Every product is unique. While most have been discarded, we salvaged these into distinctive gifts as they bring back memories of tobacco farming in Stuckey, SC.
